Hellenic Champion 2013: IPTAMENI ATHENS

Unfortunately, the Greek league did not finish according to the schedule announced by the Hellenic Ice Sports Federation.

The teams with the best results of the Northern Group (PAOK and ARIS) informed the federation on April 6th that unfortunately due to financial problems they will not be able to travel to Athens in order take part in the semi-finals against the best teams in the South (Iptameni and Albatross). So the semi-finals were not able to take place before the Worlds.

The World Championship held in Cape Town, where payers of all 4 semi-finalists were participating, lasted from April 11th to April 21st, 2013 (the athletes got home on April 23rd after a long trip). As all athletes know, after a world championship where athletes have played five tough games in one week, it is necessary to recover even for a few days.
Unfortunately, the rink closed down on April 28 2013 and there was no time to play the semis and the finals.

Therefore, the Hellenic Ice Sports Federation decided that champion is the team with the best results and better statistics in the regular season.

Surely it would have been ideal to have finished the National Championship on the ice, but due to various problems, the federation had to find a solution in order for Greece to name a champion for 2013. The decision taken by the federation is completely fair since again, IPTAMENI ATHENS, proved that they are the undisputed best team in Greek Ice Hockey!
